About Us

Windstream Power was established in 1974 in North Hatley, Quebec by physicist Colin Kerr. Over the years, Windstream has manufactured small wind turbines, microhydro systems, the popular human power generator series as well as reliable permanent magnet DC generators.

A move down to Vermont in the 1980's established a strong foothold in the industry.  In 2005, Sheila Kerr, Colin's daughter took over the running of Windstream and then, joined up with and became part of the Bowles Corporation group in North Ferrisburgh. Vt.

Windstream products are made in the USA by a dedicated staff of 14 in rural Vermont. We are extremely lucky to work with a wonderful group of people in a beautiful part of the world.

We are paid a livable wage and supported with a fair and affordable health plan.

Our parts are CNC machined and custom powder coated.
